How it works

  1. Step 1

    Add photos

You, your pet, or up to 5 people and pets, one clear photo each. On a computer you can scan a QR code and send it from your phone.

  2. Step 2

    Pick a look

Pet, cartoon or realistic, then vertical for TikTok or wide for YouTube. Sign in with Google, see a free preview image, and pay once for the video.

  3. Step 3

    Save it and post

It takes about 4 minutes. You can close the page: it'll be in My videos and we'll email you. Turn on TikTok's AI-generated label when you post.

Templates we've already made

Every clip here was made on this site from an AI-generated photo. Press play for sound, pick one, then add your photo. New videos use the Outstanding chorus; clips marked as earlier have a different original AI song.

What you get

You or your pet on lead vocals, behind a mic at a wooden desk stacked with books and records. Shelves behind you, warm lamps, and a band squeezed in: keys, upright bass, drums, two backup singers.

Why the desk?

The joke comes from a parody that swapped college football coaches into a real desk concert, right after they'd lost. Since then people have made versions with offices, friend groups and pets. Where the meme came from

FAQ

What is Tiny Desk AI?
It's the name people use for AI videos made to look like a small concert at an office desk. The meme took off in October 2026 with a parody of college football coaches. Here, you create an original scene from your photo, with you or your pet as the lead character. More on the meme
How do I make a Tiny Desk AI video?
Upload one to five photos, pick pet, cartoon or realistic, see a free preview image, pay, and wait about 4 minutes. Step by step
Is there a free version?
Each account gets one free preview image with a watermark, so you can see your photo in the scene. Videos are paid. What's free and what isn't
How much does it cost? Is it a subscription?
$4.99 for 1 video, $9.99 for 3, or $19.99 for 7. You pay once. There's no subscription and your videos don't expire.
What do I get?
A 10-second 720p MP4 with original AI-generated vocals and music, vertical or wide, with a small AI-generated mark and no preview watermark, plus a silent copy of the same video. It's yours to download and post.
What song is it? Is it Outstanding?
Original AI-generated vocals and music, not the original recording and not a voice clone. The words and melody are new, and the chorus lands on the word "outstanding". Want the real song, like the viral clips? Every video comes with a silent copy, so you can add it from TikTok's sound library when you post. Outstanding Tiny Desk AI
Can more than one person be in it?
Yes. Add up to 5 photos, people or pets, one each, and they sing together at the same desk. Everyone in the photos has to have agreed. The price stays the same.
Is this affiliated with NPR?
No. This is an independent parody-style video tool. We aren't connected to NPR or NPR's Tiny Desk Concerts and we don't use their footage or logo.
Can I use a photo of a public figure or a coach?
No. Use photos of yourself, adults who agreed, or your own pets. No public figures and no children, and we check photos before making anything. We remove anything reported to support@tinydeskaifree.com.
What happens to my photo?
It's used only to check it and make your video, and nothing is shown publicly. Uploaded photos are deleted after 7 days. Your videos stay in My videos until you delete them.
What if I don't like it?
Email support@tinydeskaifree.com and we'll refund you. If a video fails, it doesn't count against your balance.

The band's squeezed in behind the desk. They just need a singer.
